Surrounded by a large garden with stunning views of the Atlas mountains, Dar Akhdar is an authentic and elegant Moroccan retreat with a heatable pool and full set of staff.
Dar Akhdar is a large and luxurious villa, built in a unique Moorish style yet benefiting from excellent modern amenities. The property is situated in the Ourika Valley, just twenty minutes from the Grand Place, surrounded by a large, lush garden with breathtaking mountain views. Despite being so close to Marrakech, the beautiful green valley is excellently preserved. The entrance to the house can be found through an idyllic Andalucian courtyard, filled with vibrant citrus trees and a refreshing fountain. The interiors are elegant and spacious, impeccably laid out with Moroccan-inspired decor. The villa boasts seven bedrooms, six bathrooms and ample living space, ideally designed for total comfort and luxury for groups of family and friends. The colourful bedrooms are either on the ground floor of the villa or in the Pavilion, which is a few steps away in the garden.
The villa's garden is abundant in sweet-smelling roses, bougainvillea and olive, pomegranate and banana trees. It is also home to exotic birds, butterflies, and Leila and Charlie - the tortoise couple who are drawn to this much-loved garden. The property is fully staffed and boasts a fantastic cook service for a truly luxurious Moroccan escape.
The dedicated and experienced team of in-house staff look after guests and the villa is offered including breakfast. The team prepare breakfast of your choice including fresh fruit juice, home-made breads, special honey, fresh fruit, yoghurt, tea and coffee.
Cook service included for lunch and dinner and meals are payable as follows: £15 per person for lunch, £20 per person for dinner. 50% discount for children under 10. All beverages available in-house at an additional cost. Very drinkable Moroccan wines (rosé, gris, white, red) can be provided from 130 MAD upwards. Allergies, dislikes and special requests can be catered for, please request on booking.
Breakfast includes orange juice, cereal, fruit, eggs and Moroccan bread and pancakes on request.
Lunch includes, pasta, risotto, green salad, pasta salad, pizza, Moroccan salad, lentils, haricot beans, salad nicoise, tomato and mozzarella, pasitia, pasta with tomato sauce, chicken kebabs
Dinner dishes include soup, coucous, chicken lemon tagine, lamb tagine, brochettes, roast lamb, chips, rice beans and other vegetables, meat on barbecue
Home made ice cream, tarts, chocolate mousse, fruit possett.
Children's food: chicken nuggets, spaghetti bolognese, chips and burgers.
Please note that prices for up to 10 include use of the main house only, prices for 10 - 14 also include use of the Pavilion.
Flexible departure day and duration: Minimum stay 7 nights during school periods and Christmas and New Year. 3 nights at all other times. Please ask for a quotation.
Please note that there is a tourist tax of 30 MAD per person per night payable locally on departure.
The pool and terraces at this villa are south facing.
Morocco is an enjoyable destination all-year round. It has a dry, continental climate which means hot summer days with cooler evenings and pleasantly mild winters.
