Set in extensive lawned gardens with Atlas Mountain views, Villa Shamsum is a supremely comfortable property just 15 minutes outside of Marrakech.
Set amidst perfectly manicured gardens of lush lawns and cascading olive groves, Villa Shamsum is elegantly poised. Accommodation at this supremely comfortable house is all on one level split between the main building and an additional canvas lodge. The main house is incredibly spacious and decorated in a contemporary style, painted in a cool pastel colour palette with beautiful portrait photography adorning the walls. A bright and airy living space offers comfortable seating and a modern fireplace, alongside an indoor dining area and a fabulous kitchen where a dedicated team of staff prepare three meals per day for all guests. Sliding glass doors lead to a charming terrace that is furnished for al fresco dining and relaxing. In the centre of the lawn a 15m long pool takes pride of place, paired with a poolside pergola offering soft seating in the shade and a hammock for outdoor snoozing.
There are four spacious and beautifully decorated bedrooms within the main house, including the master suite with a freestanding bath tub; the canvas lodge offers further accommodation for four guests including a double bedroom and a bunk bedroom, which is perfect for children. The canvas lodge, set in the southeast corner of the grounds is a unique offering that allows guests to be immersed in nature. Another unique and important element of Villa Shamsum is the fact that it uses geothermal and solar energy, making it a positive energy house. This simply means that the villa produces more energy than it consumes through a special air cooling system and a solar heated pool. Elsewhere within the grounds there is a clay boules court, table tennis and a cinema room, meanwhile the restaurants and shopping of Marrakech are just 15 minutes away.
Moroccan/continental breakfast is included in the rental including ingredients.
The staff serve black or mint tea. Expresso Coffee made with a Krups machine with instant pressed coffee or regular long coffee. Freshly squeezed orange juice. Moroccan or French (thinner) crepes. Batbout (moroccan bread), Cake : lemon/poppy or apple/chestnut or candied fruits, Butter, home-made marmalade (from the citrus trees in the garden) honey. Eggs (according to your preference). If you would like anything different, please feel free to ask Zahra and she’ll do her best to accommodate your request.
Lunch and dinner are available at extra cost on a cost of food and cost of transport basis.
Alternatively you can order menus with fixed prices: Lunch: £17 per person, £8 for children and children Dinner: £21 per adult and £10 for children. Children under 4 are free of charge. The cook show you some sample menus. Please select what you would like to eat from the menus the day before or in the morning for lunch and supper (starters, main course and dessert). There must one choice per course for all guests. The staff are flexible (within reason) to accommodate children and those with special dietary requirements.
There is a barbecue and charcoal in one of the outbuildings.
The cook will clear the kitchen away and go to the staff quarters near the kitchen at approximately 2200hrs.
The cook can also prepare simpler meals for babies and young children. If any guests are vegetarians or have any particular dislikes or special dietary requirements, please discuss this on arrival and the cook will do their best to accommodate these special requirements.
We recommend that you bring Spirits with you from Duty free. Mint tea and coffee, soft drinks and water and wine are all available. Moroccan wine is very good and reasonably priced.
The villa manager of the property you are staying in will meet you on arrival and visit you during your stay if you wish, and both the villa manager and a CV Villas representative will be available by phone. Contact details will be sent with your travel documents.
