For beachfront bliss just 1km from historic Galle, Turtle House is a beautifully appointed family villa with spacious rooms, fabulous beachfront location and an excellent team of staff.
A fun family villa situated on Habaraduwa beach, Turtle House is an incredibly spacious house in a truly excellent location. Habaraduwa beach is a soft, sandy paradise, which rarely gets crowded - though you are likely to be joined by precious turtles. Also within walking distance are a number of great bars and restaurants, while Galle is just a short drive away for boutique shopping, cultural highlights and even more restaurants.
Turtle House is wonderfully spacious, and its clever design means there’s lots of luxurious living space, with an open plan sitting room, poolside games room, and various adjoining balconies and terraces. A well-equipped kitchen houses marbled stone worktops, whitewashed walls and stripy breakfast stools, making this a perfect space for breakfast or a children’s dining area. There are four luxury en suites, as well as a fun children’s bunk room with six beds and a cot. This villa is a dream holiday home for families with children - there’s a jungle style gym playground and table tennis, plus board games and other children’s toys and books; the inviting L-shaped pool adjoins the house looking across the immaculate lawn to spectacular sea views. A team of 6 staff includes a talented chef to prepare every meal.
A stay at Turtle House can be as active or as relaxed as you wish. Relax privately by the pool or stroll Habaraduwa’s long sandy beach. Take a guided bicycle ride through Galle’s rural hinterland to get a flavour of local life and wildlife. Visit a lowland tea factory for tasting sessions and tours. Embark on coastal cruises or whale/dolphin watching (seasonal). Combine a late afternoon boat trip with a visit to a spice garden. Tour the atmospheric streets of the history-laden Galle Fort and then stay to dine or buy gems. Relax with an in-villa massage or beauty treatment. Go shopping or dine out – the local team will be able to great recommendations. Highly recommended. Early booking essential.
The chef has designed a menu to showcase his talents with the best of Sri Lankan cuisine, local fresh produce and his experience. A float system is operated to cover all food and non-alcoholic drink expenses and the chef will use this money to only buy the ingredients to make your drinks and meals as well as the transport to get them. He will need a float and ask for a top-up when this runs out. He will provide you with receipts and balance etc. The kitchen is designed for a private house and therefore guests are asked to only choose one dish/meal per your party. Sri Lankan breakfast is highly recommended and please note 24 hours notice is required to make it. Although Sam knows how to source the best produce and get the best prices guests are recommended to accompany him on at least one shopping trip so that you become familiar with what is available and local costs. Guest are also recommended to inform the chef of any allergies or special dietary requirements. The menu is available on request.
The villa manager of the property you are staying in will meet you on arrival and visit you during your stay if you wish, and both the villa manager and a CV Villas representative will be available by phone. Contact details will be sent with your travel documents.
