Immerse yourself in Tanglewood’s creative ambience with a chance to attend young musicians’ rehearsals and masterclasses. Afternoon at leisure. Evening picnic at the festival site, followed by an encounter with one of the leading lights of today’s Swiss classical scene: David Zinman, who will conduct the Boston Symphony Orchestra, accompanied by the Tanglewood Festival Choir, in performances of the “Gloria” by Francis Poulenc and “The Planets” by Gustav Holst.

In the morning, a further opportunity to sit in on festival rehearsals and masterclasses. For lunch we take you to the delightful Red Lion Country Inn in Stockbridge, which is renowned for its excellent US beef. Afternoon excursion to Williamstown to view one of the finest collections of French Impressionist art. The evening brings another highlight of this year’s Tanglewood programme: the Boston Symphony Orchestra, conducted by David Zinman, performing Brahms’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, “From the New World”.
