From Luxor to Aswan aboard a luxurious Dahabeya Sailing Vessel
Day 1
Flight with SWISS from Zurich to Cairo (Egypt). Transfer to Mena House Oberoi. Traditional five o’clock tea in the hotel garden with a view of the Cheops Pyramid. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 2
Morning visit to the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx and the Solar Boat Museum. Free time in the afternoon.
Day 3
Morning visit to the Egyptian Museum. Afternoon visit to the Citadel, as mosque and the bazaar quarter.
Day 4
Morning flight from Cairo to Luxor. Embarkation of the luxurious Sonesta Dahabeya, a new sailing vessel built in 1920s style.
Comprising only 6 cabins and 2 suites, the vessel offers an exclusive setting for a relaxing journey on the Nile.
Afternoon excursion to the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Ramses III at Medinet Habu.
Day 5
Visit to the awe-inspiring temple complexes at Karnak and Luxor.
Day 6
Relaxing cruise from Luxor to Esna.
Day 7
Onward journey to Edfu; visit Horus Temple.
Day 8
Sailing to Kom Ombo. View dual Temple of Sobek and Haroëris.
Day 9
Aboard the Dahabeya we sail further up the Nile to Aswan.
Day 10
Excursion to Aswan High Dam on Lake Nasr and the Philae Temple on the Nile’s Agilkia Island. Optional half-day excursion by air to Abu Simbel.
Day 11
Disembarkation after breakfast. Return flight to Cairo and onward flight with SWISS from Cairo to Zurich.
